Tascam introduces version 4.0 package for the CD-302 professional DJ dual CD player
ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA TASCAM (Booth 6491) has announced a major update to their CD-302 Professional DJ Dual CD Player. The new Version 4.0 software adds new features to the CD-302 including ±100% tempo adjustment to supplement the CD-302's ± 32% tempo/pitch adjustment feature, sample fader start/stop and a one-touch reverse sample playback mode. Also, the new package includes Sonic Foundry's ACID DJ software, a CD collection of loops and grooves from EastWest, and a special DJ tips and tricks video featuring TASCAM's DJ product specialist DJ Davey Dave.
"Version 4.0 takes the already incredible CD-302 to a whole new level," says TASCAM DJ product specialist DJ Davey Dave. "The new operating system software, combined with the free EastWest CD, the ACID software and the tips and tricks video makes the CD-302 an unbelievable value."
Introduced in August 1999, the CD-302 ($1375.00 MSRP) features a two piece design with separate player and controller modules connected via two eight pin cables. The CD-302's Player Module houses the CD transports in a 2U, 19-inch rackmount enclosure and can play back standard CD disks, 3-inch CD disks and CD-RW disks. The unit's two CD players act independently with one player able to cue music while the second is playing.
The CD-302's CD control module includes enough RAM for unlimited looping (in either Play or Cue mode) and up to 10 seconds of sampling. Samples can be played either forward or reversed. The built-in RAM buffer allows a 10-second shock buffer and instant start capabilities. Great sounding analog-style scratching is made easy via the large JOG wheel on the remote and preset and cue memory locations may be stored and recalled using a 10-key pad. The controller module also includes auto cue, sleep function, tap tempo button, pitch slider and pitch bend. The controller module is housed in a 5U, 19-inch rackmount enclosure and can be mounted flat in a DJ coffin case for easy use and transport.
"A unique feature of the CD-302 is the ability to play and edit two samples and two loops on the fly, independently of one another, so you can have four sources of audio at the same time," explains Dave.
