Steinberg new power Guitar Amp Warp VST now also for the Mac- the amp plug-in featuring Hughes & Kettner DSM technology now also for the MacA huge sound, pure emotion, raw energy, hair-trigger response from a whisper to a roar! This is what most guitarists associate with glowing tubes and a wall of speaker cabinets - in a nutshell, the classic guitar rig. That was yesterday. Today great tone comes in a PC- and Mac-based package. Based on Hughes & Kettner DSM technology, Warp VST is a plug-in that puts the authentic response and pure tube tone of three classic amp models and three speaker cabinets at a players’ fingertips. The virtual effect processor delivers true real-time performance when used with an ASIO I/O solution as latency is negligible, even irrelevant in musical terms. Warp VST boasts that legendary Jazz Chorus clean sound, the genre-defining dynamics of 60s-vintage Plexi Tops, and the modern hi-gain thump and chunk typical of the Rectifier era. It also offers a choice of three speaker cabinets: Combo (12" loudspeaker, open back cab), British (4 x 12" cab loaded with 80s-era speakers), and Greenback (4 x 12" speakers that pack the trademark steel-fist-in-a-silk-glove punch of Greenbacks). Each amp can be mixed and matched with every cabinet. Warp VST, in combination with a low latency ASIO card such as the Steinberg Nuendo Audio Link I/O, turns the PC and Mac into a bona fide guitar rig with remarkably low latency - so low, in fact, as to put every other modeling solution on the market to shame. With the Warp VST, every producer enjoys total control over the guitar sound. VST recording systems, Cubase VST, and Nuendo are able to deliver a full-blown, processed guitar sound in real-time to the guitarist for tracking purposes, while the untreated guitar signal is recorded in the background. This means that Warp VST affords the producer far more freedom to sculpt the amp sound to suit the music and tweak guitar tracks to sit better in the mix. Warp VST for Windows is available now at dealers for Euro 258.- excl. VAT (MSRP). The Mac version will be available in April 2002. Background Hughes & Kettner revolutionized the guitar world in 2001 with the digital amp zenTera. Spectral Design developed the trailblazing Digital Sector Modeling (DSM) technology featuring in this Hughes & Kettner amp. Working on behalf of Steinberg Media Technologies AG, integrative concepts - thomas wendt, in turn, formulated the concept behind the Warp VST.
