2008 America’s Best DJ - Summer Tour presented by Pioneer ProDJPioneer Electronics Inc. Professional Sound and Visual Division announced its second annual collaboration with DJ Times magazine to find America’s top jock through its sponsorship of the “2008 America’s Best DJ - Summer Tour, presented by Pioneer ProDJ.” Kicking off the search, the top 100 nominees for the contest were announced on March 25th in Miami at the 2008 Winter Music Conference. The select DJs, nominated by DJ Times staff members, will have the opportunity to perform in the summer tour and compete to win the prestigious title of America’s Best DJ.As the industry leader in professional DJ gear, Pioneer, in collaboration with DJ Times, has developed the America’s Best DJ - Summer Tour as the pre-eminent DJ and nightlife-culture branding event in the nation for three years running. As title sponsor, Pioneer’s ProSV Division will have high visibility at the events, including an interactive exhibit of its premium DJ equipment. Local Pioneer dealers will also be on-hand to educate attendees on Pioneer products being displayed. At select venues, participating DJs can perform using any of Pioneer’s CDJ, DVJ, SVM or DJM product line provided. “Our involvement with America’s Best DJ - Summer Tour extends our commitment to the art of DJ-ing, and the experience it has on all it touches. Fans can cast votes for their top jocks online, as well as at the 40 stops of the national summer tour. The tour and contest will culminate with the closing ceremony in Las Vegas, where the winner will be crowned. Previous winners include New York club king Jonathan Peters in 2006, and Miami trance master George Acosta in 2007. Voting for the 2008 contest begins May 1, 2008.
